About this event

Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour training to teach participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

The Youth Mental Heath First Aid curriculum is designed to teach adults how to help youth experiencing mental health challenges. Participants will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental illness. This course gives tools to help professionals. family members, and others in the community. Participants who completed the course are certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid for 3 years.

The Virtual Format requires the use of an online Learning Management System, in which participants will complete 2 hours of a self-paced introductory module to be completed prior to the 5 hour virtual 'face to face' session. Participants must complete the self-paced module to participate in the virtual training. Participants are given at least one week to complete the prework prior to the training date.

Participants are required to have a microphone or phone to call into the session. Camera is highly recommended, but not required.
